This is a panoramic view of the lake and
Marciac Village. You can walk around the lake
(it is approximately 2200 metre) and into the village from
the Chateau.
Marciac is a big village in the south west of France in the heart of Gascony it is situated by a lake and in the St Mont wine producing area.
It has it's own rugby team and is famous for holding a Jazz festival every August. On Thursday morning every week a market is held in the central square where you can purchase local produce, produce from the Pyrenees and some interesting clothing !
There are several restaurants in the town and the Auberge which is on the south side of the square is worth visiting, this restaurant is popular at lunchtime and on Sunday's and specialsies in Gascony food.
In the village there is a supermarket called huit a huit and there is a newsagent that sells English newspapers
